SyncroSupply roll-out for the BMW Group in Great Britain

Following the use of SyncroSupply at its German production sites, the BMW Group began the roll-out for the system in its English locations at the beginning of 2008. The quick payback period and increased process reliability prompted BMW to consistently continue the roll-out for this solution, particularly in these days of a weak economic climate.

The roll-out started at the engine plant in Hams Hall, which already had a simple solution to control timeframes. SyncroSupply quickly convinced employees through its easy operation, the fully automated control and extensive possibilities. Hams Hall is thus the first location in the BMW Group to receive the new Version 9.0.

The next British roll-outs for SyncroSupply are scheduled for the pressing plant in Swindon and the Mini works in Oxford.

SyncroSupply is already being used as a dynamic truck control system (DLSS) at six locations for the BMW Group in Germany, including Munich, Dingolfing, Regensburg and Leipzig, where it optimises the control of up to 450 trucks every day that arrive at or pass through each location. The German locations will be upgraded to Version 9.0 in 2010.
