The INFORM software SyncroSupply has already been successfully controlling material deliveries in the Audi plants of the Volkswagen Group in Ingolstadt, Györ and Neckarsulm as well as in the Volkswagen plants in Kassel, Salzgitter and Wolfsburg. The solution will be put into operation also at Škoda in the Czech Republic.
In the Czech Škoda locations in Kvasiny, Mladá Boleslav and Vrchlabí are produced the Škoda models Roomster, Superb, Fabia and Oktavia, as well as very soon the new model Yeti. The objective is to roll out the system, known at Volkswagen under the name LKWcontrol, at all three Czech plants of the Volkswagen Group.
In addition to the approved features, the Škoda systems will also present some innovations, such as the integration of works security in SyncroSupply with functions such as selecting some trucks for inspection before leaving the plant, as well as documentation of entry and exit through a new web mask. Furthermore, in the Škoda plant in Vrchlabí JIT (Just in Time) and regular trucks are controlled on the same loading decks. Hauliers for Škoda also have the possibility of registering their desired delivery time slots on the VW Internet-Platform www.vwgroupsupply.com. The system coordinates and optimises the time slots allocation for the loading decks based on the enquiries.
The further roll out of the system is planed for 2009. The Audi plant in Brussels, Belgium, the VW plant Bratislava in the Slovakian Republic, where the VW Touareg and Audi Q7 are built, as well as the plant in Poznan, Poland have already shown their interest.
One additional challenge for the year 2009 will be the alignment of SyncroSupply to the new logistics concept of the Volkswagen Group in order to support the group strategy as efficiently as possible.
